Transpanda OC FINALS
Tumblr media
THIS IS IT, THE FINALS, THERE WAS A LOT OF TIES BUT WE'LL SEE WHO... SOMETHING WITH THIS. WE'LL TALLY THE VOTES AND GO FROM THERE, YIPPEE!
The rules of the tournament
Brief introduction to "Thank You For Existing"
CHARACTER BIOS BELOW
Yuni Yoshinaga
Tumblr media
“My name is Yuni Yoshinaga, and I don’t really exist.”
Born a timid, sweet, and quiet boy, Yuni was quickly mistreated for his rare heart-shaped pupils. To avoid abuse, he donned the personality mask of “The Demon Delinquent”. Years later, a major accident occurred. Yuni was medically mistaken for Mizuki Fujisaki, a well-liked girl with the same eye condition. Feeling finally free, Yuni dubbed “his” true self as “The Girly Force” to those aware while stepping into the role. Yet Yuni couldn’t shake off the “Demon Delinquent” personality mask. Why? He doesn’t actually exist…right? Yuni is the main character of TYFE.
Primary Inspiration: Masashi Rando from Pretty Face (And Chihiro Fujisaki from DR)
Plural or Plural Adjacent?: Plural
Art of Yuni Yoshinaga by: Sunnyside_Cakes
Pan Kokoro
Tumblr media
“I’m Non-Canon and I’m proud!”
Kokoro is your typical filler character; Never appeared in a single chapter of her source, and only a single episode of the show adaptation. The problem therein lies that the peppy girl exists inside the main character’s mind, Pan Yu. Brought to the front just a couple of weeks before the series’s canonical ending, Yu’s wedding, Kokoro is determined to find the space where she fits in best! Can she assert her existence with so many people insisting she’s just a delusional Yu, including Yu’s fiance Bow Botella? Whatever the case is, she’s surprisingly comfortable in both forms she has. Pan Kokoro is the main character of TYFE part 4: Filler Turf.
Primary Inspiration: “The Girl” from the anime of Ranma ½
Plural or Plural Adjacent?: Plural
Art by @starredfishing, commission them!
Maya St. Fleur
Tumblr media
“I’m Maya St. Fleur, and I’m gonna blow your mind!”
An ex-demolition woman turned psychic therapist (and a zombie descendant), Maya is employed by a recap therapy organization. Despite this, she’s actually never faced her past grief of losing several close people, choosing to forget instead. Trouble strikes when she needs to attend her own recap therapy, due to an actual total memory loss accident caused by Yuni. With slightly different circumstances, will Maya finally build on her past events? Or simply continue to demolish what shaped her...? Maya is the main character of TYFE Part 1: That’s Life.
Primary Inspiration: Razputin Aquato from Psychonauts.
Plural or Plural Adjacent?: Adjacent
Art of Maya St. Fleur by: Sunnyside_Cakes
Jilly Bean
Tumblr media
“I do not feel emotions. I hope that this does not cause you distress of any kind.”
Appearing quite emotionless at first glance, Jilly Bean is actually a severely self destructive individual focused on others first. Much of this stems from her assuming she fakes all of her emotions, when in reality she’s an undiagnosed system with one low emotion alter. She has a tendency of intervening with stories she feels demonizes someone unfairly. This need to be someone else’s anchor has led her into much trouble; the lemon coloring on her body is actually scar tissue for example. With the loss of one reformed villain turned friend, Shirley A. Gonna, Jilly’s low emotion alter gets front stuck, worsening her mindset. She is a recurring character in TYFE.
Primary Inspiration: Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece
Plural or Plural Adjacent?: Plural (Unaware)

Obviously this doesn’t apply to everybody, but how has the Mizuki gender identity discourse somehow become the opposite of the Chihiro gender identity discourse?!?!
Like, headcanons nonwithstanding, these two are almost opposites? Chihiro is a crossdressing boy people claim is trans (both ways, honestly)
Whereas Mizuki is a (heavily implied) Transfem person people are claiming is simply a crossdressing guy.
I swear people don’t have reading comprehension.

Note
Headcanons for Chihiro and Mizuki being friends?
:D
Like most of Mizuki’s friendships, their friendship with Chihiro started online. She was one of the biggest supporters of their anime videos, even before they joined Nightcord at 25:00.
Something they knew they had in common was not really fitting in, and occasionally withdrawing into themselves because of it. They could support each other during those times.
Despite going to different schools, they were both very active in Nightcord with each other. Mizuki was so proud that Chihiro was able to find her people at Hope’s Peak.
Chihiro, too, kept encouraging Mizuki to let themself get closer to n25 and their friends at school. If she could find acceptance, then they could, too! Their friends seemed nice, besides.
Although Chihiro knew about Mizuki being part of Nightcord at 25:00, she didn’t actually listen much to their music. Instead, she did recommend the group to some of her classmates.

The Epilogue of Blood+ Russian Rose, Volume 2. Contains the author's thoughts and summary of them. Consists of three pages.
Afterword
So, this is the end of BLOOD+ Romanov Arc, Beans Bunko edition.
Before I began writing, I had the opportunity to visit the I.G Exhibition held in Shibuya. Those who attended might remember that the life-sized Chevalier figure was particularly eye-catching. I had already thought, after seeing the footage from the first screening, that the Chevalier looked scary and unsettling. But since it was a life-sized figure, I thought I'd experience it from Saya’s perspective and crouched down in front of it without worrying about onlookers.
"Seeing it like this, imagining the battle in my mind, looking up... it’s really terrifying."
Reflecting on Saya’s journey, she learns about her hidden origins during the harsh Russian winter and is thrust into battle before she can even recover from the shock. She is left with only Haji as her reliable ally, and she feels responsible for dragging him into the conflict. The situation is incredibly overwhelming.
I wanted to give Saya and Haji at least a moment of true peace and happiness. In my portrayal of Saya, she ended up becoming more of a regular girl, dealing with doubts and fears, rather than an otherworldly figure. I wonder if it would have been better if she had remained more transcendent. I hope this doesn’t detract from the enjoyment of the anime.
When I write, I often become so absorbed that I can’t think of anything else and rarely go out, so I use baths as a form of relaxation. Whenever I get stuck, I take a bath. I also cry over my inadequacies in the bath and sing "Moments" by Hamada Shinya, which I’ve decided is Haji’s song, while in the bath (I apologize to the neighbors!).
Having finished this story just before potentially causing a neighborhood disturbance, I feel a bit sad knowing I won’t be writing about Saya and Haji anymore.
To everyone,
Working on BLOOD+ and being involved with Saya and Haji has been both challenging and incredibly fulfilling.
Lastly, I would like to express my thanks and apologies. To Director Fujisaki, Aniplex, Production IG, MBS, and the person I troubled with phone calls while traveling—thank you for your patience and support. To Mr. Takajo, who helped improve my clumsy writing with excellent illustrations, I am grateful.
Thank you to everyone who was involved until this book appeared in stores. I apologize for any inconvenience caused.
And to you, the reader, thank you.
May the strength of Saya and Haji remain in your heart forever.
Kari Mizuki.
# SUMMARY:
The afterword begins by marking the end of the BLOOD+ Romanov Arc in the Beans Bunko edition. The author reflects on their experience before beginning the writing process, recalling a visit to the I.G Exhibition in Shibuya. There, the most striking exhibit was a life-sized Chevalier figure. Initially, the author was intimidated by the sight of the figure, feeling uneasy about its imposing presence. However, driven by curiosity and the desire to understand Saya’s perspective, the author crouched in front of the figure to experience the scene from her viewpoint. This encounter, although frightening, was intended to deepen their connection with Saya’s character and the story.
The author describes Saya’s tumultuous journey in Russia, where she confronts the shocking revelation of her origins and faces the harsh realities of battle. Saya is isolated in the severe cold, with Haji being her only source of support, even though she feels responsible for dragging him into the conflict. The author expresses a strong wish to grant Saya and Haji moments of genuine peace and happiness amidst their struggles. They reflect on how Saya evolved into a more relatable and emotionally complex character, showing vulnerability and ordinary human concerns rather than remaining an aloof, transcendent figure. The author shares personal writing habits, noting that they often find solace in baths to relax and brainstorm. They admit to crying over their own perceived inadequacies and singing intensely to lift their spirits, sometimes causing disturbances for neighbors.
In the concluding remarks, the author conveys deep gratitude for the opportunity to work on *BLOOD+* and to develop Saya and Haji’s story. They extend their thanks to various people who supported the project, including Director Fujisaki, Aniplex, the production team, MBS, and the illustrator Takagi, who provided invaluable assistance. The author acknowledges and apologizes for any trouble caused during the process, especially apologizing for the emotional phone calls made during business trips. They thank readers for their support and hope that the strength and impact of Saya and Haji’s story will remain with them long after they finish the book.

LET THE BIGENDER SWAG BATTLE BEGIN
Tumblr media
Here is the bracket! I tried my best to try and make the initial matches as fair as I could, but there's definitely a chance that I did not pair these very well due to my limited knowledge of how popular these franchises and characters are.
